Here's how time plays a huge part in our lives.
Age
People always say time is of essence. Our fertile period deteriorates as we age. It's best to conceive or start TTC at the age of late 20s or early 30s. The % drops after age 35, and 40, so on and so forth. The quality and quantity of oocytes (eggs) will drop as we age. People always say women have a biological clock ticking in them.
Ovulation Cycle
A regular cycle will consist of 28 days. For people with PCOS like me, my typical cycle is something like 32, 36 or 42 days. Irregular period is a sign of a problem that one must seek help early.
AF
Usually before the start of any treatment, we have to wait till our full flow AF is here. We can only start scanning, our stim jabs or oral med once it arrives. Usually by CD 10 or 14 when AF clears, the IUI or ER procedure will take place.
2ww
2ww refers to the horrible long two week wait. It typically refers to the time from the procedure to allow the egg and troops to meet, till BFP or BFN. Some say implanatation takes place about 6-12 days after the procedure, or BD. It is during this period that many women will be frustrated with all the symptoms making them wondering if it will be BFN or BFP.
Time for BT and HPT
It is during this 2ww that women will be tempted to cheat by testing on HPT on their own. A BT taken on 19dpt is also a long long wait.
Waiting at the Clinic
It can be very annoying to see many people ahead of you in the queue when you think you are the first in the doctor's clinic/IVF clinic. With the Govt's introduction of the incentive package, the wait at the doctors is even longer!
Accepting the News
It is hard to accept the news when we learn that we have a BFN. Time heals all wounds. We will be strong, get over it and start afresh again. We just need some time..
There is sunshine after a storm, rainbow after the rain and light at the end of the tunnel.
